All the work created by Robertson Artworks is done by
Dean Robertson, an artist from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. His taxidermy mounts are of world class quality with much attention to detail, expression and movement. His original techniques allow him to achieve lifelike results. Even in his younger years Dean received awards and first place ribbons at World and International Taxidermy Competitions.
His paintings capture the spectacular beauty of northern Canada and let you glimpse into the lives of the people and animals that live in this rugged land. Living in Yellowknife since 1975, he has spent numerous years exploring the north. His biology career has given him the opportunity to observe a variety of wild animals in the boreal forest and arctic tundra, and many of these experiences are portrayed in his work. He currently prefers to paint with acrylics on canvas or Masonite, as well as painting on natural objects such as wood slabs, antlers and skulls. He has become quite skilled at doing exterior murals that can withstand our harsh climate.
